I tried tapping, pulling, cursing and finally tapped with 'extreme prejudice' and it popped out. To my pleasant surprise, the previous owner had left some cds in the magazine, including 3 of the remastered Led Zepplin cds!
Then wire your underseat woofers to the subs. Technic makes a PnP harness. You can PM on any of these BMW forums. For L7 systems, any amp stable at 4 ohms with an output between 50-100w will be ok. I am running about 70w @ 8ohms to my L7 woofers and they have been fine for years.

MOST is an optical ring network in your car: Pull the radio out and you'll see a connector with two cables that are not as flexible as typical wires.

The LCD display on my radio/cd player works great for the first 30 minutes or so, then it begins to fade out in vertical lines. That might work, mine does it all the time doesn't go and come. If it's greyed out, it means it failed to respond on the network on power up.
